CEO Ajara Alghali is a Cultural Planner with a charge to empower and preserve thriving environments for Black and Indigenous people. Working with organizations and neighborhoods to develop programs and strategies that empower and transform communities is her passion. Over the past decade, Ajara has worked with initiatives that span the range of well-developed, to local grassroots supporting their growth, bringing together resources, and building toolkits to share best practices. The backbone of her work has been focused on place-based approaches in steering initiatives that are collaborative, with long-term approaches to building thriving communities. In all, developing frameworks, collaborating across communities and sectors, securing funding, and establishing growth from a community-informed perspective is what drive her. Ajara’s role has perpetually been to research and identify opportunities for collaboration, engagement, and participation across all areas of economic development. She built CULTURVATED because she has an insatiable desire to support the activation of people and programs that create tangible change.
